We have today added the Google Plus 1, +1, Plus One (whatever you want to call it!) to our website, and look forward to seeing what kind of hits we get.

DON’T FORGET TO +1 THIS PAGE:

The button is surely late in being released compared to the Facebook Like and the original Tweet buttons, so it remains to be seen whether people will take to using this.

The other reason it’s interesting is that you need to be signed in with a Google account. Whilst everyone seems to have a Facebook account, Liking is easy as most people stay signed in. But not everyone has a Google or Gmail account, and this will probably limit the number of +1′s you get on your website.

See the button live on iM3 in the top right of the website, have a whirl and +1 us right now!

You can get the code yourself from the Google website here, where you will find the details of how to add it to your retail website or blog. There is one section of code to add to the header (a script), and then a small snippet of code for where you would like the Plus 1 button to appear on your pages.

1. Place this tag in your head or just before your close body tag:

<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js”></script>

2. Place this tag where you want the +1 button to render

<g:plusone></g:plusone>

Happy +1′ing!
