Business owners in the UK can now create a Google+ page for their company. Much like the Facebook pages feature you can now showcase your local or national products and services through a fully indexable profile. Google+ Pages are easy to create though you must already have a Google+ profile set-up through your existing Google account.
Mixed reaction is the best way to describe industry response to the release. Prominent bloggers from the SEO industry have left some scathing reviews admitting Google+ Places is either too basic or too dangerous. An afterthought to Facebook Pages was mentioned at SEOMOZ. The fact that admin rights have yet to be completed properly, the on-site Google+ business badge code is only half finished and there is not yet any way to change your Google+ URL (personalisation).
One element does seems much more simple to manage and that’s sharing through Circles. Announcing news to your followers is an important part of the Google+ Pages core value, as you don’t always need or want to release the info across the board to all contacts. Being able to select one group of people in a simple click means management of information release is very accomplished from the outset.
